Walter Pereira


Walter Pereira was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada and graduated from Cimarron-Memorial High School in 2010. Upon graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps where he served 5 years from 2010 to 2015. In the United States Marine Corps he held the title of Infantrymen, COXSWAIN, and Scout Sniper with 1st Battalion 4th Marines where he embarked on the 31st MEU and 13th MEU respectively. He finished his last duty station with the 5th Marine Regiment where he was a Water Survival Advanced and helped with training 100’s of Marines in water survival.

Upon being honorably discharged, Walter attended Saddleback Community College from 2015-2016 when he was accepted by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Arriving at UNLV, Walter began his UNLV journey majoring in Business Administration-Management at the Lee Business School. During his studies he continued to pursue his love for sports and enrolled into the Greenspun School of Journalism majoring in Sports Media. During this time he became involved with the Rebel Report Student organization writing articles for the organization website relating to sports across Las Vegas. He was also involved with the inhouse sports show “The Rundown” where he helped as a producer and host for the show.

Walter’s interests involve the online E-Sports scene with DOTA 2 as well as being an avid poker player. His favorite sports involve the NFL and NBA with being a fan of the Denver Broncos. Upon graduation he hopes to move to Denver, Colorado and pursue a career with the Denver Broncos. He hopes to work in upper management for an NFL team or be an on air analyst or commentator for a sports media company covering the NFL or NBA.

Some of his interests outside of sports include the aforementioned poker, working out, cooking, and playing with his Corgi Daisy-Ellie. He has a twin sister, older brother who live in Las Vegas, with his little sister residing in Eugene, Oregon.
