A bill created by House Democrats in response to nationwide protests calling for police reformation has been stalled due to lack of bipartisan consensus.
Assembly Speaker Jason Frierson revealed that bill AB478, requiring annual police training on de-escalation, racial profiling and implicit bias, is not being enforced.
In a press conference in Reno, Gov. Steve Sisolak addressed the violence that occurred Saturday, March 30. “As governor, I encourage folks to exercise their peaceful First Amendment rights to protest,” he stated.
